I love working with colour! Colour is an exciting and powerful approach to design, it is a wonderful tool that can change how we feel about our environment or the way we perceive space and shape. Colour can make or break a room, a building, a product or a design concept. Debbie Abercrombie runs her own Interior Design consultancy and has a strong background in textiles and styling in the Interior Design Industry as well as a Diploma in Fashion Design (AUT).
Debbie has been teaching classes in Auckland for the last two years, prior to that she was a tutor for five years with the Wellington Polytechnic Interior Design correspondence course.
Debbie will introduce you to the magic and manipulation of colour through theory, practical knowledge and exercises to develop your own passion for colour and design.
Colour Design with Debbie Abercrombie
Colour Design is a year long course designed for those with a personal or professional interest in gaining a better understanding and confidence in colour. This is a full year course which can also be taken term by term.
Module Three | Professional and Promotional Use of Colour
This module is designed to introduce students to the theory and practice of colour in Architecture, Interior Design and related creative industries. Students will gain an understanding of the connection between these industries and how they relate to each other in their use of colour. Topics covered will be: Colour practitioners, colour in marketing, colour in pattern and texture.

Debbie also offers Module three as an intensive weekend workshop, covering the same content as the 8 week course above.

June workshop:
For those who want to increase their understanding and confidence with colour, this intensive workshop is designed to cover all the topics included in the second term of the full year course in just one weekend.
Topic covered: colour culture today, bringing the past into the present, developing colour palettes and colour forecasting.
