Te Tuhi is proud to host a supporting exhibition in association with Other Waters: Art on the Manukau, a weekend art event located on the Old Mangere Bridge, Onehunga. Other Waters  is the collaborative effort of a group of artists and writers gathered together with the aim of foregrounding issues concerning water and weather around the Manukau Harbour. As a whole the project encompasses a diversity of art practice including performance, installation, social projects and video projections on the Holicim silos. These works will attempt to engage local histories and encourage critical debates about natural resources in the domain of Kaiwhare, the taniwha of the Manukau − a restless sleeper who creates sudden surges as he rolls over, causing shifts in tides and weather.
